In 1990, Aeromaritime International Management Services (Pty) Ltd (trading as AIMS Global Logistics) was established by the Allied Electronics Corporation (Altron) and Ren freight Forwarding to provide import and export cargo management services, as well as customs clearing and international freight forwarding facilities, largely for Altron group companies.

Approximately 4 000 copies of Freight & Trading Weekly are distributed weekly, with research showing that FTW is passed through on average 12 hands at a business.
