Price Structure and Payments
NB!! - There are generally TWO categories of students wishing to undertake and achieve the FIATA diploma. See example explanations below, as well as the payment and pricing section for consideration.
Category A - Potential Learners/Students who have via the South African TETA (Transport Education Training Authority) undertaken learnerships in the workplace over several years, and achieved the above mentioned NQF 3 and NQF 4 Certificates.
Thus, they would have achieved and conducted studies equal to scope of 10 of the FIATA Diploma Modules (As mentioned there are 14). With these certificates and a minimum of 4 years Industry experience and subject to GMLS prior assessment & revision classes on these submissions, they may enter the program and then undertake the full FIATA Diploma at NQF level 6.
Such a Learner/student who is now undertaking the full FIATA Diploma will be charged R 18,500.00 Excluding VAT. If they pass the Modular GMLS Exams and are found eligible for the certificate they will need to pay a FEE of R 3,750.00 Excluding VAT for SAAFF, and other certification fees for FIATA Diploma certificate from FIATA HQ in Zurich.
Important to note is that, Employers thus would have been able to claim income tax rebates (12H) equivalent to approximately R 32,000.00 on NQF 3 and 4 and treat the FIATA Diploma also as training expenses in terms of Income Tax.
All students must also procure the FIATA SLA Course material (Singapore Logistics Association) 3 books, being, Airfreight, Multimodal Transport, Safety & Security. Total 3,600.00 Excluding VAT.
Category B - Potential Learners/Students who have NOT at all had the opportunity to participate via the South African TETA (Transport Education Training Authority) learnerships in the workplace over several years and HAVE NOT achieved the above mentioned SAQA NQF 3 and NQF 4 Certificates.
They may however have undertaken other studies or training, which may count towards recognition and acceptance as a credit and must communicate all certificates etc received. They however (As mentioned) may receive recognition of their life and work skills through a process called RPL (Recognition of Prior learning). GMLS is accredited by TETA to award such qualifications.
Thus, they can do the FIATA Diploma and still complete the SAQA NQF 3 and 4 and attain certification for those via this process. This however will be conducting an RPL process. They thus will not have to spend the 2 to 4 years that it normally takes to obtain these certificates.
From a funding calculation point of view, generally it would have cost such a learner/student, a minimum up to R 28,500.00 for each of the usual NQF 3 and 4 Programs.
Such a Learner/student now undertaking the RPL process with GMLS, will pay via RPL method R 13,500.00 for each of the NQF 3 and 4 qualifications. A total of R 27,000.00 excluding VAT. They will enter the program for the FIATA Diploma will be charged R 18,500.00 Excluding VAT.
If they pass modular exams and are found eligible, they will need to pay a certification of R 3,750.00 Excluding VAT to receive the final FIATA Diploma certificate.
Therefore, with this RPL category of potential students, in comparison to prior learnership students, they would along this journey have paid or invested in their education a total of R 52,850.00 Excluding VAT.
Their Employers thus would have been able to claim income tax rebates (12H) on NQF 3 and 4 (Even under RPL) and treat the FIATA Diploma also as training expense in terms of Income Tax.

NB!! GMLS will still conduct an assessment to see if we accept the years of Industry experience, which will be at the sole discretion of GMLS. All students who are processed for RPL and revision classes should ideally have a minimum of 5 to 10 years proven industry experience.

The Employer/Client/Student shall be required to pay GMLS, a non-refundable deposit of 50% of the GMLS Tax Invoice, on signed acceptance of proposal. The balance of 50% will be due and payable 2 Months after the course commencement date.
Should the applicant be unable to pay the outstanding 50% Invoice, the applicant will have 5 working days to approach GMLS Accounts Department, as to the reason that the amount has not been paid. Failure to do so will result in the Learner’s access to the Programme, to immediately be placed on hold.
The learner will remain liable for the Invoice amount plus interest, charged on any outstanding accounts, and will not qualify to receive their FIATA Diploma from FIATA Headquarters, until all amounts owed to GMLS Academy have been paid in full.
